One of those moments I frequently have when I look at my current state and smile to myself thinking, “This is my life.” I just made dinner and am now eating it. I’m eating more of that banana sauce I made last week, on brown rice and steamed asparagus and brocoli. I’m listening to The Cult, drinking San Pellegrino out of a clear glass. I’m reading Plato’s Republic while I eat.

It’s 6:44am local time and I’ve been up since 4:30am.
I’ve registered in the SFU classes that I was hoping to and will be returning to bed.
I arranged my classes so that I can sit in on at least 3 other economics classes in addition to the ones I’m taking. They are either courses I am interested in but know I will never take or courses I will be taking in the future but for which I want a “heads up.”
My dad is sitting in on an intro political science course this summer (he took a sociology course this spring) but it’s not looking as though I will be joining him for that one as I will be sitting in on Econ 410 – A seminar in monetary policy – and Econ 431 – Intermediate Mathematical Econonmics. I’m enrolled in Econ 331 – Introduction to Mathematical Econ – which is a fucking lie, it’s nothing like an intro course. I’m looking forward to learning the intermediate course at the same time.
I’m really bummed I can’t sit in on more courses.
Let me know if you’d be even remotely sitting in on an evening lecture with me in any department whatsoever (poli sci, history, sociology, psychology, philosophy…) If that’s even remotely appealing to you I can look into what’s available. My evenings are pretty fee, especially considering, you know, I don’t go to meetings anymore.
Suddenly I feel like death and am returning to bed.
I’m looking forward to being back in Vancouver (Euroland is still treating me nicely though) however I suspect I’ll be a busy guy. That’s a good thing.
Hope to chat with you again soon.
